Such a huge part of my impulse has to do with those things that are meant to disappear, and the ability to just let things go. I use recycled newsprint -- it’s extremely thin and is one of my favorite papers because of the way it decays. It yellows. It cracks. It has this whole life cycle that I really like. There's such an overwhelming emphasis on creating things in an archival manner, and preserving ones work 'for posterity', that I absolutely loathe. As Frost puts it, 'Nothing Gold Can Stay.' My girls will be put up, torn down, sanded off, written over, hated, loved, ignored...and that's all that I ask.
